Construction Teacher Melbury College- Melrose School MPS + SEN 1 (0.4) Build More Than Just Structures—Build Careers! Following a successful funding bid, we are now ready to launch of our brand-new, purpose-built Construction Centre! We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Construction Teacher to lead the way. This isn't just a classroom role; it’s an opportunity to shape the next generation of industry professionals within an environment designed specifically for BTEC delivery. If you have the trade expertise to inspire and the passion to lead and create your own learning environment, then we want to hear from you! The role: Whilst you will be part of the Melrose team, you will be based at the DNAC Site on Bond Road, Mitcham. (Approximately a 7 minute walk away) Initially this will be a part-time role delivering the BTEC Level 1 Construction course to Key Stage 4 pupils on role with Melrose School & Whatley Campus. Once established, there will be capacity for additional days to deliver the programme to pupils from other sites across Melbury College. Following our successful internal launch, we intend to scale our provision, opening the centre's doors to local schools through a sustainable, fee-based partnership model. Our setting: Melbury College is a partnership that includes Melrose School, Primary and Secondary Campuses (Special School for pupils with SEMH), Canterbury Campus (Secondary PRU), Lavender Campus (Medical) and Whatley Campus (ASD/ SpLD) All of our pupils have an EHCP and have historically experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education. At Key Stage 4, we offer pupils a vocational pathway alongside their GCSEs. Pupils’ select this based on their career aspirations. We currently offer BTECs in a number of courses onsite such as Hair & Beauty and Animal Care however have historically used local providers for construction. You will need to be a resilient and dynamic teacher who has a strong commitment to personalised learning and who can promote a positive school culture.
