Job Purpose: To support pupils in learning as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations. To support the class teacher in the delivery of the Numeracy and Literacy. To support the class teacher in the delivery of other areas of the curriculum as appropriate giving educational support as directed. To work with the class teacher on the preparation of lessons and materials as appropriate. To work with the class teacher to develop and implement a system of monitoring and recording progress. Assistance with pupil assessment and reporting procedures To provide regular feedback to the teacher about pupils. Providing emotional support to help better functioning in class and access to the curriculum. To attend staff meetings, team meetings and staff development training, where appropriate. To be aware of and adhere to school procedures. To contribute to the health and well-being of pupils. To contribute to the maintenance of appropriate standards of behaviour in school. To be aware of confidential issues related to home/pupil/teacher/school and work and to keep confidences appropriately. Having contact with parents, and with education and similar professionals To prepare and maintain displays and specific learning resources under the direction of the teacher. To support an effective teamwork process. Any other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
