Job title: Science Technician Salary: H5 £25,169 - £27,225 actual salary for 37 hrs per week term + 3 weeks Hours: 30-37 hours per week, term time plus up to 3 weeks (part-time negotiable) Responsible to: Head of Science Contract: Fixed term until April 2027 (option to extend) We are seeking a Science Technician to help provide and organise technical support for our busy Science Faculty. This is a temporary role to cover for extended absence. There may be the option to extend into a permanent role in the future. Reporting to the Head of Science, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring resources are managed to enable the effective delivery of the practical component of the science curriculum across all year groups. An understanding of the relevant Health and Safety regulations is important, as is the ability to maintain equipment and manage stock. A full induction and training programme is available. We are looking for a personable and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about science. You will have good organisational, communication and problem solving skills and be able to work effectively in a team. The Science Faculty has benefited from substantial grant funding and is therefore equipped with some of the most up to date and exciting equipment for the teaching and learning of Science. We are passionate about encouraging girls into STEM subjects. We have also recently benefited from a total rebuild on the same site under the Priority Schools Building Programme.
