An Exciting Opportunity to join Swindon Academy; the most improved school in Swindon School: Swindon Academy Job Title: Sixth Form Study Supervisor Salary: Β£23,279 per annum pro rata to the FTE of Β£26,305 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time plus one week Swindon Academy is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Sixth Form Study Supervisor who will support staff in school making a strong contribution to pupils' learning and achievement. The Sixth Form Study Supervisor will support students studying in their Sixth Form and run the Sixth Form Study Centre ensuring students have the best learning experience to support their taught lessons. The main duties include: Supervise the students studying in the Sixth Form Study Centre Support Students in the completion of note-taking, assignments and essays Hold 1:1 wellbeing conversations with students to support their academic progress and personal growth and development. Use data effectively and work with other members of the Sixth Form tutorial team to provide targeted intervention and support for students identified as βat riskβ of not meeting course requirements The very nature of this job means that the cover required will be variable on a daily basis. This role is working Monday - Friday, term time only, within Sixth Form phase at Beech Avenue. Our ideal candidate will have: excellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with young people and adults an ability to deal with students and staff so that they feel they have been dealt with consistently and fairly an ability to convey authority and earn students respect, with the ability to make good decisions really fast. the ability to show initiative whilst knowing when to take advice good judgement over matters of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information about students strong IT skills with the ability to positively respond to training in the use of school IT packages.
