We are seeking a committed and resilient Unqualified Teacher to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision. You will work with pupils who have a range of additional needs including anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism, and behavioural difficulties.
You will deliver engaging learning experiences across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and/or a broad, personalised curriculum designed to re-engage learners and support progress both academically and emotionally.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, behaviour support, and making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-planned or adapted lessons across the curriculum
Manage classroom behaviour using consistent, trauma-informed strategies
Support pupilsβ emotional regulation and social development
Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Resilient, calm, and able to remain positive under pressure
Experienced in (or willing to learn about) SEMH / SEND education
Confident in managing challenging behaviour
Strong in communication and relationship-building
Able to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs
Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
Desirable (not essential):
Experience in youth work, PRU, SEMH schools, or behaviour support
Degree or strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas
Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or coaching background
