We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team. About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead our small SEND provision for pupils with complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and experienced practitioner who is committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive. As a SEND HLTA, you will take full responsibility for a small class of approximately 4-6 pupils with complex additional needs. You will work closely with school staff, SENDCO, parents and external professionals to ensure that pupils receive high-quality, personalised support that enables them to make strong academic, social and emotional progress. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across all subject areas, assessing pupil progress and adapting learning to meet individual needs. You will ensure that teaching within the SEND provision is inspiring, accessible, and appropriately challenging, while supporting pupils to integrate into mainstream classes wherever possible. The role also includes maintaining effective communication with parents and carers and contributing to a collaborative approach to supporting each childβs development and wellbeing. Applicants must have previous SEND teaching experience and/or HLTA experience, with a strong understanding of supporting children with complex needs. Confidence in planning, delivering and assessing a personalised curriculum is essential, along with excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills. A patient, caring, compassionate, and proactive approach is vital.
