Mayfield School · Torquay, South West
Torbay Education Safeguarding Service (TESS) is a unique service supporting schools in Torbay to promote the welfare of their children and young people.Established in August 2014 the service works in partnership with Children’s Services to offer advice and guidance to schools when there are concerns for the welfare of their pupils. The aim is to ensure that the most proportionate response is devised to keep children safe in the community. Although some services are provided to schools on a commissioned basis we work with every school in the Bay in terms of our commitment to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Safeguarding Children’s Partners. TESS are an integral part of the MASH within Children’s Services and provide a daily presence: liaising with schools to obtain the wishes and feelings of children to inform decision making, attending MASH meetings and strategy meetings as required. We are now in a position to add to our team. What we would like to do is rebuild the strong early help focus that we had pre-lockdown. Although we have slowly started to rebuild this presence in schools there is a real opportunity for the right person to make their mark on this aspect of the service. In addition to working closely with MASH partners, this would also require establishing close working relationships with early help partners and maintaining a presence on the Early Help panel. The position is full time, term time only with an arrangement of hybrid working including time spent in the MASH and visiting schools across the Bay. If this describes you, please consider applying for the position which has guaranteed funding until August 2027. For an informal discussion about the post please telephone Sarah James, Team Manager on 07525 815441 Interviews are expected to take place end of June/beginning of July, ready for a September start in the new Academic Year.
