About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the educational achievement and personal development of our pupils. As an HLTA, you will complement the work of teachers by delivering whole-class learning, fostering independence, and promoting inclusion. Your contribution will help ensure that all pupils make excellent progress and experience a sense of achievement. Key Responsibilities Deliver whole-class teaching as required, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all pupils. Support class teachers in raising the learning and attainment of pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning and extracurricular activities. Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm and safe learning environment. Observe and assess pupil performance, providing accurate feedback to teachers. Prepare classrooms for lessons and organise resources to create a stimulating learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to support pupil progress and well-being. Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and practices. Uphold the schoolβs ethos, values, and commitment to safeguarding children. Requirements A relevant qualification such as a Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or a Diploma in Childcare and Education (or a willingness to work towards one). Level 2 qualifications in English and maths. Experience working with children and leading teaching and learning activities. Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills, with the ability to use ICT to support learning. Excellent organisational and communication skills. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the welfare of children. Knowledge of effective teaching methods, the SEND Code of Practice, and statutory frameworks for the school curriculum. Personal qualities such as sensitivity, understanding, and a passion for working with children.
