About this Role We are seeking to appoint a Inclusion Support Assistant to work with a young person in our Reception Class. A level 3 TA qualification is desirable as well as experience of supporting SEND pupils - experience of working in the EYFS is essential for this post. This post will require the successful candidate to learn BSL alongside our young person - supported by the Teacher of the Deaf. Alternatively, a candidate with at least a Level 2 BSL qualification would be highly desirable and there is the potential for an increase in payscale to reflect this skill and training. There is some flexibility with working hours and days for the right candidate, although we are initially looking for 8.30-3.30 Monday to Friday. We require someone who: Has experience of working with children who have a hearing impairment and can learn basic British Sign Language as well as implementing Speech and Language interventions. Has experience and sound knowledge of working in the EYFS Has experience of working with children who require additional support for learning. Has the relevant skills and strategies to ensure support can be implemented to meet the requirements in an EHCP, including working with parents and carers and the SENCO. Have good behaviour management strategies. Is flexible and well organised. Has good interpersonal skills and is able to communicate well. This position is temporary until 31st July 2027 or until the child leaves the school / dependent on additional funding received to support individual pupil's needs.
