The Compass Centre is a specialized provision in Luton dedicated to supporting students experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) . We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team at Lealands High School. You will be the operational backbone of our provision, ensuring our Tier 1, 2, and 3 interventions run smoothly and efficiently. The Role As the Administrative Assistant, you will provide essential support to our Compass Team. You will be the first point of contact for schools, families, and external agencies, ensuring that the "engine room" of our intervention remains organized and effective. Key Responsibilities: Operational Support: Manage the daily administrative tasks that keep The Compass Centre running, from maintaining student records to coordinating schedules for student attendance. Communication Hub: Act as a professional and empathetic point of contact for families, mainstream schools, and external partners regarding referrals and intervention updates. Data Coordination: Assist in the tracking and reporting of attendance and engagement data to help measure the impact of our EBSA interventions. Team Collaboration: Support the Compass Team by preparing resources, managing correspondence, and organising multi-agency meetings. About You We are looking for a highly organised individual who can balance technical efficiency with the sensitivity required when working in an alternative educational provision. You will need: Proven experience in an administrative or office support role (experience in a school or local authority setting is a plus). Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g., SIMS). Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with total confidentiality.
