About the role

Grove CE Primary School is seeking an exceptional, experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dedicated team and lead the strategic and operational development of SEND provision across our school. This is an exciting opportunity for an exemplary practitioner who is passionate about enabling all children to thrive, whatever their individual needs. The successful candidate will ensure that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive high‑quality, effective teaching and support. You will oversee the day‑to‑day operation of our SEND provision, including our enhanced provision facilities, alongside ensuring that pupil premium, EAL and vulnerable pupils are adequately supported. You will be expected to develop and maintain strong communication with pupils, families, staff and external agencies, and uphold our statutory responsibilities under the SEND Code of Practice. You will act in the interests of the pupils, their families and the school to ensure both safety and progress for our children. You will have a role in ongoing CPD for the staff team and oversight of our bespoke enhanced provision class. This is a pivotal leadership role with significant impact on the educational experience and outcomes of pupils with additional needs. This is a non-teaching role required for 3 days per week. Why Join Us? At Grove CE Primary School, we work together to ensure that learning is ambitious and relevant, with an ethos rooted in love, respect and resilience. We want our staff and pupils to come to school with a positive attitude, where they are kind to one another, eager to learn and have pride and aspirations around what they can accomplish as individuals and as a community, both academically and socially, as we truly believe that everyone can let their light shine! Our curriculum is outstanding, as is our ongoing continuous professional development for all staff. Grove CE Primary School is well known locally for our inclusive ethos and commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils. We are known in the community for our excellent SEN provision as an Autism friendly school that embraces and celebrates neurodiversity. We offer most of the Ordinarily Available SEN Provision suggested by OCC as standard in every class for every pupil. Our school is currently in the early stages of a significant development and expansion project - we will be growing from a single form school to 1.5 form school with a nursery on site. We are looking for an enthusiastic SENCO to support us and provide strategic direction as we drive the expansion of our SEN provision, alongside the development of the wider school, while retaining our dedication to supporting pupils with a range of needs effectively and in a timely manner. If you want to be part of our success story join us for the journey. If you would like to visit and see what we do - we would be delighted to welcome you. Please contact the school office
