Pastoral Teaching Assistant Buntingford First School Actual salary: H3 + fringe pro rata - £7603 Hours: Part time1pm-3.30pm daily - term-time + inset Start Date: September 2026 Buntingford First School, is a new, net carbon zero, first school located in East Hertfordshire. We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational teaching assistant who has the expertise, patience and knowledge to be able to support some our more vulnerable learners, particularly those with SEMH needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join the school in the third year of its journey and be a key part of shaping our inclusion support within the school. We have a fantastic team who are passionate about making sure every child is valued and can succeed. The successful candidate will need to be kind, patient and dedicated to making a difference to children's learning. You will need to enjoy working with children and be passionate and committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals. This role will include working with children across the school with varying needs. Experience working in a primary classroom is desired. You will work closely with the class teachers and SLT to ensure the children in our care thrive. We are looking for someone to: - Support the vision and strategic direction of the school by providing outstanding pastoral care that reduces barriers to learning. - Identify and support students who may require regular provision to overcome their barriers to learning. - Liaise regularly with the Inclusion team to plan and deliver effective targeted support to individuals and/or groups of students. - Provide administrative support for the Inclusion team - Develop self-regulation tools for some of our learners - Support staff in providing effective pastoral care of vulnerable students. - Be a point of contact and support the work of outside agencies The school is part of Scholars’ Education Trust (SET), an established, cross phase, multi-academy trust formed in 2012.
